Nora's favorite toy recently are the coasters that her great-grandmother made. I'm not sure what the technique is called, but my grandmother taught me how to make them, and I made a set for a school project once. It's sort of like cross-stitch, except that it's done with yarn on a grid of white plastic. They are very nice and get a lot of proper use in our house as coasters. But they also happen to be the perfect size, weight, and shape to be of incredible interest to a baby. I think she likes the way the plastic grid on the bottom feels against her two teeth.
I took some photos of her playing with one the other day and made this little slideshow to avoid choosing which photos to post here. They can all be found on Flickr.
