As I gazed upwards, ultimately deciding there weren't any good photos to take and it was too late to start a timelapse movie, I mourned the fact that I have a hill directly to the east which means that everything gets fairly bright before we even see the sun appear over the hill. A few minutes later, I glanced out the window and saw something I've never seen before. The trees on top of the hill were perfectly silhouetted by the rising sun. Very cool.
Every morning should start like this.
